Happy Birthday Tessa

I had the fun opportunity to take Tessa's first birthday pictures a few weeks ago. It was my first cake smash and was so much fun! She wasn't too sure about pictures at first but as soon as she saw that cake oh boy did she light up. We got some really fun pictures.

Epic Fail

I had a dumb moment this morning, like really dumb! I've been trying to be more active lately especially with the warm weather, so this morning I woke up and had the great idea to go for a run, so I loaded the puppy into the car and we headed over to our favorite trail. I ran a great 2 miles and was in the last stretch and decided to push it, so as I'm in a full out sprint my phone flies out of my sweaty hand soars for a few feet and shatters onto the pavement! SERIOUSLY?! Now I've had my phone for a long time and have dropped it time after time but once I got to the pieces on the ground I knew it was worse than usual.

Luckily it is still usable, just not that pretty. I have been wanting a GPS watch for weeks now but keep putting off pushing that buy button because my phone can track my runs and do all the same things. Well it's obviously time to get a GPS. I'm leaning towards this one, but am open to all suggestions. Oh and also ideas on a new phone :) On the plus side, I shaved 3 minutes off of my run time! We are loving this warm weather though and hope it stays warm so we can keep on the family walks and bike rides.

Lilly Bell

OH MAN!! Life has been crazy and it has been way too long since I last posted! The main reason for the lack of posts? We are moving!!!! We couldn't be happier about getting out of Pocatello but boy is it stressful between packing, finding a place to live, quiting one job, finding another & all of this mixed in with our normal busy schedules of work, school & army. We can't wait to be back with family and I am SO excited to get back to Eri's Salon & Spa. I will be working on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and every other Saturday, so make sure you come see me if your close :)! But anyways on to the important stuff.... I just finished up this session with the cutest little girl on earth! Sure she may be my niece but that doesn't mean I'm biased she really is the cutest!

Now if those didn't make you smile you better look again! Enjoy your day!

Finding Motivation

Ever had one of those days? You know the days where you feel like you have nothing that important to do? Sure there is lots of stuff to do and keep the day busy but was it really the best way to spend your time?  Well that was my day today. My job can keep me really busy one day and the next day I have no appointments. So with a whole day of nothing to do and my husband off dirt biking I had to figure out something to keep me busy. So I cleaned house, washed the dishes, worked on some crafts, read a book, and played with the puppy. It kept me occupied all day but now at 10 o'clock at night I feel like I did nothing for the day. I think I feel this way because I didn't do anything very active. I have been diligently working out the last week and a half and have lost 3 pounds so today I was sore and it was cold outside and I didn't do a single workout. It's amazing what a difference being active can make on your every day life. I had little energy, ate like crap, and I feel like crud today and it's all my fault, so what am I going to do about it? Take a 2.5 mile run tomorrow no matter what!
I hope you all find a way for you to stay active tomorrow, whether it's a run, weights, yoga, or a simple walk with your dog!

St. Patricks

St. Patrick's Day is one of those holiday's that can be hard to decorate for. I love having my house look "homey" by decorating for holidays but I'm also pretty cheap and have a hard time buying decorations that are usually over priced until after the holiday (which is a good way to stock up for next year) but until I get the stockpile I want I rely on DIY! Most of my decorations for all holidays are made by me actually. 2x4's are my best friend, and now that I have cricut mini it's even easier to decorate with them. So here is how I doll up my house for St. Patty's!

I made all of these decorations with 2x4's except the stack of 3 is 2x2's. My dad always has scraps at his shop so I just "borrow" them from him. All you have to do is add a little paint, distress them a bit, and glue on some letters. I made the CLOVER and LUCK blocks before I had a cricut, so I just used rubber cement to glue on the paper letters and then covered them with a coat of clear spray paint. For the words on the 2x2's I used white vinyl and it was easier.
I made this wreath after seeing a similiar tutorial for a birthday wreath on Pinterest. I used foam tubing from Home Depot, two colors of tissue paper from the dollar store, some hot glue, and shiny clear spray paint. I found the shamrock in the middle at shopko for 60% off!

this subway art printable can be found at eighteen25

and this Kiss Me print can be found at The Tom Kat Studio
Next week I'll have some of my Easter decor up since it's right around the corner!
